Gaining influence with integrated care systems and local government organisations

Background and objectives

Barnardo’s joined forces with the Institute of Health Equity to shape the way integrated care systems (ICSs) address health inequalities among children and young people. A key aspect of this programme was engaging ICSs and inviting them to apply to join the new Children and Young People’s Health Equity Collaborative.

Blue Lozenge was brought in to support Barnardo’s drive to build effective and sustainable relationships across the ICS landscape and communicate the programme to NHS and local government colleagues.

Approach

The Blue Lozenge team delivered two digital engagement events for an audience of healthcare leaders. We also provided video edits, social media copy and optimised on online form to encourage more organisations and individuals to apply to join the collaborative.

Our digital engagement webinars were well attended, with around 170 potential partners in the audience across two events, which exceeded the client’s expectations.

We helped establish contacts with either a local government figure or an ICS colleague from every integrated care system in the country, as well as initiating responses from a huge range of additional organisations interested in taking part.
