The NHS blue lozenge debuted in the 1990s, becoming truly significant after a 1999 rebranding exercise that unified over 600 different visual identities into one cohesive system.

Though initially questioned for its value, time has proven the blue lozenge is essential in unifying the health service while becoming one of the most globally recognisable and emotionally resonant brands.
